Periodic invitations are issued to candidates who apply to the Quebec Skilled Worker Program through the Quebec Expression of Interest System, popularly known as Arrima. Quebec’s immigration ministry issues these invitations and publishes the specific requirements for each of the Expression of Interest Draws. The most recent Quebec Arrima Draw, dated 10th August, 2023, issued a total of 1,384 invitations to apply to prospective candidates. Eligible candidates may apply for Canadian permanent residency under the provisions of the Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP). All the necessary details of this latest Quebec Arrima Draw were published by the Minister of Immigration, Francization, and Integration, also known as MIFI, on the 16th of August, 2023.
All eligible profiles found in the Quebec Arrima bank as of 7th August, 2023, at 6:30 am, have been considered for this fresh round of invitations. Arrima profiles with level 7 language proficiency or higher in French, and a minimum score of 591 or above, based on the Quebec score calculator, were targeted under this new round of invitations. This cutoff score however, hit a low by only 5 points, when compared to the previous Quebec Arrima Draw conducted in the month of July, dated 20th, in the year 2023.
Additionally, this specific draw had also taken into account profiles possessing a valid employment offer outside the territory of the Metropolitan Community of Montreal (Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal).
What is the Quebec Arrima System?
The Canadian province of Quebec manages, organizes, and handles immigration applications of skilled workers using the online, free, computerized platform called Arrima. It is much similar to how the federal Express Entry System functions. However, the scoring system of Quebec does not replicate the scoring system of the Express Entry System.
In order to qualify for the upcoming Regular Skilled Worker Program (QSWP or RSWP) draws, candidates are required to create their respective Arrima profiles. After the creation of your profile, it remains valid in the Arrima bank or pool for a period of one year. Candidates who receive an invitation to apply in the draw, must gather all their supporting documents testifying and verifying the information that you have entered in your Arrima profile.
After the completion of this entire process, candidates receive a Certificat de sélection (CSQ), which can be used to submit an application to the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), to apply for Canadian permanent residency.
