MPNP EOI Draw : Manitoba Issued 587 LAAs Under Skilled Worker Program

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) launched a new draw under its Expression of Interest (EOI) system. The MPNP Draw has invited a total of 587 candidates from different skilled worker programs to apply for permanent residency. All the Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued to eligible candidates under the provisions of the latest Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. The draw\’s Ranking score of the lowest-ranked candidate was 613 and continued to rise to 717. 

This latest MPNP Draw was conducted on the 29th of June, 2023, and targets the following major groups:

  • Occupation-Specific Selection 
  • All Occupations
  • International Education Stream 
  • Skilled Worker Overseas

Who were invited under the MPNP Draw?

Considering the ongoing labour shortage in the province of Manitoba, the provincial government has decided to invite potential immigrants who are capable of uplifting and bolstering the economy so as to foster a significant economic upswing and prosperity. 

In this latest MPNP Draw, the government had sent a total of 587 invites to four major groups:

1. Occupation-Specific Selection: 

Based on the data released by Statistics Canada, profiles indicating current employment in Manitoba in occupations indicating high demand for labor, were taken into consideration. 

Number of Letters of Advice to Apply Issued: 315

Ranking score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 613

This specific draw took into account the following major and sub-major groups of the National Occupation Classification (NOC) 2021: 

  • 60030- Restaurant and food service managers
  • 62020- Food service supervisors
  • 65201- Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers and related support occupations

2. All Occupations: 

Under this group, all occupations that were not nominated under the occupation-specific selection, were taken into consideration:

Number of Letters of Advice to Apply Issued: 184

Ranking score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 662

3. International Education Stream:

Profiles that affirmed meeting all the eligibility requirements for the International Education Stream were taken into consideration:

4. Skilled Worker Overseas:

All profiles that mentioned of having received direct invitation by MPNP Draw under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative, were taken into consideration:

Ranking score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 717

Out of a total of 587 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) distributed under this draw, 162 were sent out to candidates who declared a workable Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

What to do after receiving the LAA?

All eligible candidates can log in to their account and gain access to the complete MPNP application immediately after receiving their Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA). Candidates will be allowed 60 days to duly fill out the application and submit it, along with the payment of $500 as the requested application fee. 

Upon the submission of the duly filled application form and the payment of the required application fee, candidates may log in to their account to check the following:

  • Status of the application.
  • Updating contact information (if any).
  • Updating/changing marital status.
  • Add dependents such as spouse or children (if any).
  • Upload additional supporting documents (if required).

What are the Manitoba PNP Draws?

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducts draws on a regular basis, during which eligible applicants who have filed an Expression of Interest (EOI) and satisfy the necessary prerequisites may be extended an invitation to submit an application for permanent residency.
Since the date or the outcome of the upcoming draws is not known, it is hard to predict when the next Manitoba PNP draw will be launched. The time and frequency of these draws may fluctuate in response to changes in the province\’s job market and other similar variables.

Who can apply for the Manitoba PNP?

Candidates wanting to apply for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) must meet the below-mentioned eligibility prerequisites so as to be able to apply as eligible candidates: 

  • All interested candidates must meet the language requirement.
  • Interested candidates must hold a degree, diploma, or certificate.
  • Candidates must provide evidence of the financial stability that is necessary for settlement abroad. 
  • Every candidate must possess a valid work permit or a post-graduation work permit issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). 
  • Candidates must score at least 60 points out of a possible 100 in the scoring grid. 
  • All candidates must indicate their intent to establish a business or live and work in Manitoba.
