What is the Skilled Worker Program?

The Skilled Worker Program (SWP) is Manitoba, Canada’s provincial nominee program (PNP). It is designed to attract and retain skilled workers who can contribute to the province’s economy.

To be eligible for the SWP, you must:

  • Be a skilled worker with at least one year of full-time work experience in the last 10 years in an occupation that is on the Manitoba In-Demand Occupations List.
  • Have a valid Express Entry profile.
  • Meet the language and settlement requirements of the province.
  • Be able to demonstrate that you have the funds to support yourself and your family while in Manitoba.

If you are eligible for the SWP, you can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the province. If your EOI is selected, you will be invited to apply for permanent residency in Manitoba.

The SWP is a great way to immigrate to Canada if you are a skilled worker. It is a relatively fast and easy process, and it offers a number of benefits, including

  • The opportunity to live and work in Manitoba.
  • The opportunity to apply for permanent residency in Canada.
  • Access to provincial and federal programs and services.

If you are interested in learning more about the SWP, please visit the Manitoba government website or contact Basics of Immigration consultants.
