Updated Vancouver Living Wage 2023 stands $8.93 above the Minimum

Here is the updated living wage of Vancouver As per the latest announcement by Living Wage for Families BC.

Canada has recently revealed the Updated Vancouver living wage for the year 2023, and it shows a raise of 6.6%. In 2022, the living wage of Vancouver was CAD 24.08, which has now exceeded CAD 25.68.

Also, we can notice a difference of CAD 8.93 between the wage in Metro Vancouver and the general provincial minimum wage of Canada, which was raised on June 01, 2023. The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives held a research program, and its results shows that one-third of the total two-parent households in MetroVancouver do not even earn this living wage.  

This report also mentions that the living wage in Greater Victoria is CAD 25.40, but in Kelowin, it is only CAD24.60 per hour. The present research was conducted after the latest Labor Force Survey from Statistics Canada. The labor survey pointed out that one-third of the Canadian population is facing financial problems.
