United States waives face-to-face interview for Indian visa applicants, till December 2022

America announced that they have waived in-person interview condition for many visa applicants or candidates, which includes students and skilled workers, at its diplomatic missions in India through 31st December 2022. The American diplomat informed to Indian community leaders.

These candidates eligible for the waiver are students (F, M, and academic J visas), workers (H-1, H-2, H-3, and individual L visas), Culture, and extraordinary ability (O, P, and Q visas).

Ajay Jain Bhutoria said, “This is a great support to all visa applicants. This would be very helpful to our friends and family members and remove a lot of their concerns and difficulty”. He gave this statement after his meeting with Assistant Secretary of State for South Central Asia, Donal Lu. Ajay Jain Bhutoria uplifts the issues of visas in his meeting with Lu in Silicon Valley in the United States of California on Friday.

After meeting Donal Lu said that through 31st December 2022, the US department of state is permitted to waive in-person interview condition or requirement for some specific visas applicants and their qualifying subordinates in several non-immigrant visas classification.

Donal Lu further said that to be eligible for the extended interview waiver program, applicants trying for these visa classifications they should have previously been issued any category of visa. Other than this they have never been refused any category of American visa and they have to be eligible for the visa, if there is any sign of ineligibility then the person will be disqualified.

The US state department said, the visa applicants they should be a resident or public of the country in which they want to immigrate or applying, among others. According to a notice posted on the official website of the US embassy in New Delhi, American Embassy in New Delhi and its consular offices in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata they are going to remove more than 20,000 additional waivers appointments through spring season of this year to open the gate for qualified applicants to take advantage of the new interview waiver authority.

During the meeting, Bhutoria and Donal Lu discussed about the huge contribution made by the Indian American diaspora and their role in digital economic growth, companies, startups, and new businesses. They all are giving their important contributions in the economy of America.In meeting, Donal Lu mentioned recent immigration changes, recognizing the opportunities that America offers in the work and study field, and he also talked about the contribution of international visitors in American communities or people groups, economy, and campuses. The department of state has made visa processes easy for some candidates while keeping an eye on national or public security, a media release said.
