GREAT PLAINS COLLEGE

The regional college system in Saskatchewan is at its cutting edge thanks to Great Plains College. The needs of students, companies, and communities in western Saskatchewan are the college’s primary concerns. GREAT PLAINS COLLEGE

On March 4, 2008, Cypress Hills College and Prairie West College declared their desire to combine their two schools to form Great Plains College. The merger’s objective was to improve and broaden the services and programmes available to students who attend campuses in towns all around western Saskatchewan, from Warman to Maple Creek.

SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS

Among the regional institutions in the province, Great Plains College has one of the most challenging scholarship programmes. Since 2009, students enrolled in full-time programmes qualifying for student loans have received up to $2.5 million thanks to the kind donations of the college’s supporters, including close to $190,000 in the academic year 2021–2022.

Great Plains College is happy to provide students with a variety of scholarship possibilities, including:

The college helps you with general loan information, application support, registration confirmation, and repayment details through student advisers.

CAMPUS LIFE

International students studying at Great Plains College can get assess to the following facilities on the campus.

  • Great Plains College student residence details – Student residence/ housing/on-campus accommodation/ hostel is provided by Great Plains College with major facilities like wifi, dining, etc. 
  • Great Plains College features a top-notch bookshop with a broad selection of academic tools for students. The on-campus bookstore at Great Plains College is open from Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm.
  • Parking is accessible on all campuses.
  • Meal costs – The average student enrolled in an academic institution spends $207 CAD per month on meals.
  • Great Plains College features top-notch gym and fitness facilities for athletics and wellness. Great Plains College’s athletics and wellness centre is open from six in the morning until five-thirty on weekdays.
  • Lockers – college provides safety lockers for students.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS 

Online Application

Once you submit the application successfully, only then the process tih move further and the application will be reviewed by their admission staff. Make sure to submit all the documents supporting your education credential and application fee.

Supporting Documents

In order for your application to be assessed for admission, the college requires:

  1. High school and/or post-secondary credentials or transcript.
  2. Passport copy
  3. IELTS results

You can update all the above documents with your admission form. If the score of your IELTS test re not out or available at the moment, please be prepared to provide a schedule for the IELTS test date.

Fee Payment & Acceptance

We need a $140 non-refundable application fee payable to Great Plains College before we can evaluate your application for admission. You must make a payment via Flywire at the conclusion of this application in order to finish it. 

You will receive a confirmation email when we receive your online application, supporting materials, and application fee. If your application is accepted, you will be notified within two business days. ELIGIBILITY REQUIRMENTS FOR STUDENTS:

Bachelor’s degree program- eligibility

  • Minimum 60% in 10th and 12th standard
  • Minimum 5.5 IETLS reading score, 5.5 writing score, 5.5 speaking score and 5.5 listening score. IELTS overall score of 6.0
  • SOP, LOR, transcript, resume, official score reposting, WES

Post-secondary Diploma or certificate program- eligibility 

  • Minimum 60% 10th and 12th standard.
  • Minimum 55% in Diploma & Bachelor’s course
  • Minimum 6.0 IETLS reading score, 6.0 writing score, 6.0 speaking score and 6.0 listening score. IELTS overall score of 6.5
  • SOP, LOR, Transcript, resume, official score reporting WES.

Graduate Certificate Program- Eligibility

  • Minimum 60 % in 10th and 12th.
  • Minimum 5.5 IETLS reading score, 5.5 writing score, 5.5 speaking score and 5.5 listening score. IELTS overall score of 6.0
