WHO CAN APPLY FOR PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND PNP (PEI PNP)?

  • Applicants need to have a job offer from PEI employers 
  • The Job offer must have a level of 0, A, or B according to the National Occupational classification (NOC). 
  • Must have an authorised Canadian Work Permit  
  • Must meet required work experience (Depends on immigration stream) 
  • Language Proficiency is required (IELTS score, CELPIP) 
  • Applicants need to have legal status in the country of residence. 

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM (PEI PNP)? 

There are three categories of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program, which are mentioned below: –  

Prince Edward Island PNP Express Entry  

The PEI Express Entry program is for those applicants who have an Express Entry Profile and enrolled in the federal Express Entry system. The applicant should meet the eligibility requirements of at least one of the Federal Economic Immigration Classes, however, applicants who possess a skill set, work experience, and academic qualification that match the PEI province’s current workforce or labour requirements will get preference under PEI Express Entry PNP stream.   

Eligibility Requirements:   

  • Applicants need to have a Federal Express Entry Profile  
  • Must fulfil the eligibility of at least one of the Economic Immigration Classes.  

If you are a PGWP (Post-Graduate Work Permit) holder or Spousal open Work Permit holder:  

  • At the time you submit your EOI (Expression of Interest), your PGWP must be valid for a minimum of four months.   
  • You should have completed your education outside Prince Edward Island  
  • Must have work experience of at least 9 months under any PEI employer.  

Labour Impact Category  

The Labour Impact Category targets overseas skilled workers and fresh graduates who have a desire to immigrate to Canada Prince Edward Island and settle there. The applicants who are welcome to apply for a provincial nomination from one of PEI’s Labour Impact Streams need to have the work experience, skillset, and educational qualification required in Prince Edward Island’s labour market.  

Labour Impact Category has four streams which are mentioned below: –   

(i) PEI PNP skilled worker 

The Skilled Worker program welcomes those overseas skilled workers who have already been hired by the Prince Edward Island employer to fill the high-demand job positions that cannot be filled by the Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents.  

Eligibility Requirements: –  

  • Applicants must be between 18 to 59 years old 
  • Applicants need to have a job offer from a PEI employer 
  • The Prince Edward Island jobs offer must fall in 0, A, or B levels of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 
  • Language ability, at least Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB ,IELTS, TEF
  • Must have Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma 
  • Applicants have to meet settlement funds requirements 

(ii) Skilled Worker Outside Canada Stream 

PEI Skilled Worker outside Canada Stream is an employer-driven program, it allows PEI employers to fill high-skilled positions that may not be filled through PEI’s local labour market. 

Prince Edward Island PNP Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants need to have a Prince Edward Island job offer from a local employer 
  • Language Proficiency, at least Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 (IELTS Test, TEF, CELPIP Test) 
  • Applicant must have a Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma 
  • Applicants must be between 18 to 59 years old 
  • Applicants have to meet settlement funds requirements  

(iii) Critical Worker Permit  

This stream welcomes those overseas workers who have already been hired by the Prince Edward Island employer, and the employer who hired them is willing to sponsor them for Permanent Residence in Canada.  

Eligibility Requirements:  

  • The applicant’s age needs to be between 18 to 59 years 
  • Applicants should have minimum secondary education.  
  • The applicant must meet the minimum language requirements of CLB 4.  
  • Must have at least 6 months of full-time work experience under PEI employer 
  • Applicants have to meet settlement funds requirements  

(iv) International Graduate Stream  

The International Graduate Stream invites fresh graduates who completed their education from a recognized Prince Edward Island university or college. Applicants who are living and working in the province on a valid Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) can apply for Permanent Residence in Canada under the International Graduate Stream.     

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The applicant’s age needs to be between 18 to 59 years  
  • Must have a full-time job offer from a PEI employer with at least 2 years of job tenure. 
  • Must have settlement funds  
  • Applicants need to show that they have the intention to settle in PEI 
  • The applicant must meet the minimum language requirements of CLB 4 (IELTS Score, TEF Test) 

Business Impact Category  

Business Impact Category targets business owners and senior managers who have the potential to start a successful business and offer significant benefits to the economy of Prince Edward Island and create new job opportunities for Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents in PEI.  

(i) Work Permit Stream  

The Work Permit Stream is for those individuals who want to start a business in Prince Edward Island. If an applicant succeeds in starting a business in PEI and operating it for at least one year then he/she will be eligible to receive a Provincial Nomination for PEI PNP Canada.   

Eligibility Requirements:  

  • The applicant’s age needs to be between 18 to 59 years  
  • Must have a Net Worth of at least CAD $600,000.  
  • Applicants should have minimum secondary education.  
  • Applicants must have management skills or ownership of a business  
  • The applicant must meet the minimum language requirements of Canadian Language Benchmark 4. (IELTS Test, CELPIP Test) 
  • Applicants need to show that they have the intention to settle in PEI 
  • An active management role within PEI is required;  

Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) 

The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) targets skilled and semi-skilled overseas workers who are looking to relocate permanently to one of the Atlantic provinces.  

These are the four Atlantic Provinces. 

  1. Prince Edward Island,  
  2. Nova Scotia
  3. New Brunswick
  4. Newfoundland and labrador
