Agriculture Occupation in the National Occupational Classification

Agriculture is a priority sector in Canada because it is a vital part of the country’s economy. The agricultural sector employs over 2 million people in Canada and contributes over $100 billion to the country’s GDP. The sector is also a major source of food for Canadians and for export.

The Alberta Advantage Immigrant Program (AAIP) is a provincial immigration program that aims to attract skilled workers to Alberta. The AAIP has a priority sector for agriculture occupations, which means that applicants with experience in agriculture are given priority in the application process.

There are a number of reasons why agriculture is a priority sector in Canada. First, the sector is a major employer and contributor to the economy. Second, the sector is facing a shortage of skilled workers. Third, the sector is important for food security.

The AAIP is a great opportunity for skilled workers in agriculture to immigrate to Canada. The program offers a number of benefits, including a fast track to permanent residency and access to provincial nominee programs.
