POST-GRADUATE WORK PERMIT CANADA 

The Post-graduate work permit Canada program is meant for international students who have graduated from Designated Learning Institutions (DLI). This work permit allows foreign workers to seek employment under Canadian employers.   • If you do not apply within 90 days, or the 90-day time period passes by, you are no longer entitled to apply and must leave Canada.  

VALIDITY OF POST-GRADUATE WORK PERMIT CANADA-

A Post-Graduate Work Permit is valid for a period of eight months to three years. This work permit, therefore, allows every international student to gain significant work experience in Canada and subsequently paves the way for acquiring Canada PR. 

HOW MANY TIMES CAN YOU APPLY UNDER THE POST-GRADUATE WORK PERMIT CANADA?

Applicants are eligible to apply under the Post-Graduate Work Permit Canada only once. However, if you choose to apply for the longest period of study, you are entitled to a longer validity of your work permit, which may last up to 3 years. 

AFTER RECEIVING YOUR WORK PERMIT- 

  • Check the work permit – check the length or duration of the work permit so you know it has been issued correctly. 
  • Update all your documents – 
  1. Keep track of when your work permit is about to expire, 
  2. Extend your Social Insurance Number (SIN) to be paid for working in Canada, and 
  3. Medical Services Plan (MSP), and apply for a new Temporary Resident Visa (TRV); check that you have an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

The National Occupation Classification (NOC) is used for the identification and categorization of occupations/jobs on the basis of training, education, experience, and responsibilities (TEER) that they require.
